Shamrock Rovers Head to Estonia!!

News broke to us eairler this morning that the Hoops would be travelling to Estonia for their European adventure of the new Year. The UEFA Champions League draw took place at around 11 o’clock this morning, with a lot of Hoops tuning in, including ourselves, and we watched with high expectations. We all had our preferred teams for the draw. Mine was Bangor, saw a trip to NI was among our fans. Maybe? That turned out to be not the case. The Hoops were drawn home first leg and away second to Estoniain side FC Flora Tallinn. The Hoops would be indeed having a party!

More about FC Flora.

FC Flora were founded in 1990. They’ve won the league eight times and as well as the Estonian Cup five times. So there a pretty decent side! They have a number of people playing in the National side. They won their first league title in 1994. Flora’s home stadium was only recently built and holds all of 9,300 people. That’s a lot of Hoops! This is FC Flora’s first time in the UEFA Champions League since the 04-05 Season. So they’ll be wanting it to be a long stay in this years competition.

Our team’s League progress.

So far Shamrock Rovers top the league group, but is it the same in the Estonian league? Where are FC Flora i hear you say! We’ll they topped their league last season (2010) and this season’s form is played 15 won 12 out of them.  So they play the same format as us. Anyways they finished in 4th place last season, but improved this season as they won the thing.A bit like Rovers , only crowned Champions and ready for this season’s Champions League.

So i hoped this helps bring ya a bit up to date with the whole Champions league match between Shamrock Rovers and FC Flora.

Thanks for Reading,

Alex.
