I love reading books, however I often find myself reading a book just once and then it sits on a shelf or inside a box for years on end. Sometimes you can swap books with friends, but often they don’t have anything you actually want to read.
Also, if you’re a regular reader, you will know that buying new books can be very expensive. Even second-hand ones can cost a fortune in postage and packaging.
I’ve come up with the idea of starting a Sports Book Exchange for people to swap books over the internet. The idea is simple, once you’ve finished with a book find someone who wants to read it and arrange a swap.
Once a swap has been arranged, the two people simply post the books to each other.
To begin with I’m thinking of setting up a Facebook page for people to upload their lists of books they have to swap, and books they would like to read. If the idea becomes popular, I will look to create a website dedicated to this.
At the moment, I am looking to gauge interest and see if we can get a group of people exchanging books – just to see how the idea works in practice.
If you have a couple of books to swap, and interested in taking part, please get in touch with me on Twitter @graham_large or via the website contact form.
