Three Tottenham Hotspur players who could leave Mauricio Pochettino this summer

Friday 19th May 2017
Tottenham Hotspur have yet again made solid improvements this season. The Lilywhites sit second in the Premier League table, and throughout the duration of the campaign, they have looked like the most aesthetically pleasing team to watch. However, once again, Mauricio Pochettino and his players finish the year trophyless.

When all is said and done, it boils down to how many pieces of silverware have you won. At this point in time, although progression is being made, Spurs haven't added anything to their trophy cabinet in a while. Understandably, that is becoming a concern for some of their star players.
A great team to watch, but a side without trophies.
A great team to watch, but a side without trophies.
We've compiled a list of three of their regular players, who could well want to leave White Hart Lane this coming summer, as well as discussing their potential suitors.

Kyle Walker

In my opinion, Walker is up there with the best right-backs in the country when he's on form. The problem is that sometimes he just doesn't turn up. There has been many occasions when the Englishman has absolutely locked the winger he is marking down, and that is why teams are looking at potentially signing the Englishman.

Now 26, he is approaching his peak years and he will be desperate for a winners medal or two. In recent weeks, Walker has been linked with a move to Chelsea, and what a perfect fit that'd be for him as I don't see him finding it that difficult to displace Victor Moses in that right-wingback role.

Probable destination:  Chelsea

Danny Rose

Danny Rose is an interesting one, particularly as he's still out injured and isn't expected back anytime soon. At 26, he's in a similar boat to Kyle Walker. He's given his all for Spurs over the last few years without much reward, and the thought of a move away has to be an interesting proposition for him.

Where better than Manchester City? Pep Guardiola loves hard workers, tireless runners and defenders who are willing to get forward. That's Danny Rose down to a tee. The Blues will have money to spend, but it may not be a wise decision to invest in Rose this summer, as he may miss the start of the season through that aforementioned injury issue.

Probable destination: Manchester City

Eric Dier

At just 23, Dier only burst onto the scene a couple of years ago. Since then, he has become a regular for his country and a reliable, versatile player for Mauricio Pochettino. He has the ability to play as a centre-back as well as a holding midfielder, and we all know just how much Jose Mourinho loves that kind of player; hence the links with a move to Manchester United.

He'd bring some much-needed fight and passion to Old Trafford, in an area where Mourinho needs depth. Dier would get given a huge contract if he were to move North, and it looks as though the Red Devils will finish this season with two major pieces of silverware (providing they can overcome Ajax).

Probable destination: Manchester United

As we all know, negotiating with Daniel Levy is not going to be easy for anyone who wants to sign Tottenham Hotspur players. I'm also certain that Mauricio Pochettino will want to keep hold of all three of these guys, but sometimes that isn't possible.

If any of the trio does leave, the manager has to be given money to spend to re-invest that into the playing squad if they still wish to compete with the best in the country.
