Meet The Team

  • Mick Bates

Mick is a passionate fan of Coventry City and has watched from the sidelines (and had the privilege of seeing the inner workings during an exciting 2 years in corporate sales there) to see the once mighty Sky Blues fall from the Premier League, then fail to sparkle in the Championships and now just about surviving in Npower League One As well as supporting the Sky Blues, Mick appreciates all levels of football and keeps an eye on all the leagues and regularly enjoys a flutter looking for that elusive treble! You can follow him on Twitter under the username @MichaelBates72 where you can give feedback/stick for his weekly suggestions for his “Sing When You’re Winning” column.
  • Bruce Halling

Bruce is a 23-year-old self-confessed Football League addict and passionate Southend United fan, who has witnessed the Shrimpers rise to the Championship as well as their more recent fall back to their current position in League Two. Though he doesn’t get to many games as a spectator, he has worked at Southend, Colchester United and now Queens Park Rangers as a steward, so is never too far away from the action on a matchday. Away from football, he is a Politics graduate and currently jobhunting. Follow Bruce on Twitter @brucehalling
  • Lucy Waldon

Lucy is a Barnet fan, who for better or worse, got hooked to ‘Fortress’ Underhill after a couple of matches when aged four; despite living in Essex (you could say this was equally as unfortunate!). Her favourite players include former Bees Giuliano Grazioli and Jason Puncheon, as well as Fernando Torres and Kaka. Away from football, she is a recent English Language and Communication/Journalism Graduate from the University of Hertfordshire with a passion for writing, love for baking sweet treats and being a cocktail connoisseur. Follow Lucy on Twitter @Luuuce_x
  • Liam O'Connor

Liam O'Connor is a Millwall fan through thick and thin. Since supporting the Lions he's experienced promotions, relegations, play-off success and heartache, he's even witnessed the club's first ever FA Cup final! His favourite Millwall player of all-time is Tim Cahill, the man who scored the winning goal at Old Trafford in the FA Cup semi-final back in 2004. Aside from football, Liam is in his first year as a sixth-form student at Coopers Technology College in Kent. He has a passion for journalism and has a number of projects on the go such as blogs, match reports and write-ups based on Millwall and football in general. Follow Liam on Twitter @MFC_Liam
  • Tom Pyman

Tom is a journalism student at the University of Sheffield and, more importantly, a passionate Arsenal fan. Too many players have come and gone to adopt a favourite but if he had to name one, it'd be difficult to look past Thierry Henry. Or Dennis Bergkamp. Or Freddie Ljungberg. Maybe not Park Chu-Young. He used to regularly attend home games but living three hours away has now made getting to the Emirates every other week a bit tricky. Follow Tom on Twitter @gooner_tom
  • Tim Jones

Tim Jones is a Brighton & Hove Albion fan who can't remember life before the Seagulls. BHA highlights are an FA Cup Final, 6 promotions, a last day of season draw against Hereford to ensure football league survival and after 14 homeless years, the opening of the AMEX. Favourite players are Peter Ward, Johnny Byrne, Hans Kraay & Vicente. As well as a passion for writing about football, Tim has a passion for talking about football and can be found broadcasting from games on Mid Downs Radio. Away from football, Tim is a keen runner, cyclist & swimmer competing in marathons & triathlons. His claim to fame is he has beaten Olympian Iwan Thomas at both. Follow Tim on Twitter @TimJones15
  • Nick Wall

Nick is 23 years old and a massive Wolves fan, who goes to every home game and regularly away. He has a huge passion for football and would love a future career in writing. Through the years, his favourite Wolves player is the legendary Steve Bull, but the most technically gifted he has seen grace the Molineux pitch are Matt Murray and Joleon Lescott. Outside of football, he has a keen interest in tennis and cricket. Follow Nick on Twitter @nickwolf89
  • Charlotte Rimmington

Charlotte supports Borussia Mönchengladbach, Northampton Town and Arsenal. She’s been through the many ups and downs with them, mostly down with Northampton Town! She currently lives in Surrey but lived in Germany for eleven years, moving back to England last year. She tries to make it to as many football matches as possible regardless of the team. Her favourite match of last season was going to see Mönchengladbach play Mainz 05 on a bitterly cold December evening! Her favourite players are Juan Arango, Tony Adams and the Cobblers legend Ian Sampson! Outside of football, she enjoys swimming and is just about to start a degree in Psychology and Criminology. Follow Charlotte on Twitter @Charlington6

As a native of Cardiff, Marc travels to support the team through the South Wales Arsenal Supporters Club. Marc’s favourite Arsenal moments include the club’s 'Invincibles' season and winning the Premier League title at Old Trafford. Marc’s favourite players are Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Robert Pires and Tony Adams. Follow Nick on Twitter @NickDRFCMurphy
  • Alex Anderson

Alex started supporting Arsenal at a young age and witnessed many successful years as a boy, even having the pleasure of supporting 'The Invincibles.' On the other side of this, he has also witnessed the long, painful wait for a trophy and the hurt of seeing his idols leaving the club on a regular basis. His favourite people within football are: Wenger, Vieira, Bergkamp, Fabregas and of course Henry whose signed shirt he has hung up on his wall. Robin van Persie would have been on that list also but we all know the reason for his omission. Alex is currently in his second year at the Univeristy of Central Lancashire where he is studying Sports Journalism and he hopes to get a job within the industry on finishing his degree.
  • Will Rivers

Will is from Crewe and follows both Crewe Alexandra in League One and Liverpool due to an influence from his Dad. Follow Will on Twitter @Will_Rivers92
  • Scott Binnie

Scott is a Rangers and Aston Villa fan from the Midlands who now resides in Stirling, Scotland. Scott made the three-way choice that faced everyone from his area as regards to his football leanings: Coventry City, Aston Villa or Man United? He went for the Villa and his first game was a brutal 0-0 draw with West Ham, setting the tone for much of the time supporting Villa. Raised by a Gers-loving Scottish father, Scott always had a team on each side of the border and, after going to the University of Stirling, he got the chance to see his beloved Teddy Bears at Ibrox two years ago, when they were hammered 3-0 by Hibernian on a horrible November evening. Since then, he has managed to see them win a few times! His favourite players are Ally McCoist, Savo Milosevic, Michael Mols, Andres Iniesta, Barry Bannan and Lee McCulloch. Outside of football, Scott loves writing (usually on football but not exclusively!), heavy metal, reading horror and fantasy and he recently graduated from University of Stirling in English Studies. He is now training as a sports reporter and covers Stirling Albion games every week. Follow Scott on Twitter @SBinnie19
  • Lucas Howe

Lucas is a recent graduate from the University of Leeds and aspiring football writer. He considers himself to have a great footballing-brain after leading Oldham Athletic to back-to-back invincible Premier League titles on FM2011. A huge Spurs fan, he thinks pragmatically when discussing his beloved team – trying not to be swayed by his heart. Lucas claims to have been the source that suggested Ali Dia to Graham Souness, although this cannot be confirmed. Follow Lucas on Twitter @lucas_howe
  • Conor Smith

Conor is a Manchester United and Republic of Ireland supporter. He is also a keen follower of Spanish Football and his favourite club in La Liga is FC Barcelona.
