3 quintessential signings to make Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid great again

The prodigal father returned to Real Madrid. After Los Blancos endured their biggest humiliation in many years, Florentino Perez grovelled to bring back Zinedine Zidane. This time, however, it’s on the Frenchman's terms.

That being said, the squad isn’t the same as he left it. Cristiano Ronaldo made a long-distance relationship with Diego Simeone work, scoring his fourth hat trick in eight matches against the Atletico boss, this time while wearing a Juventus kit. Marcelo rides the Bernabeu bench. Toni Kroos' skills appear to be fading and Luka Modric's Ballon d'Or was apparently a parting gift from FIFA, based on his recent form. Reprising any past success relies upon Zizou's rebuilding skills.

Did I mention something about terms? The three-time Champions League-winning boss received a hefty budget to buy players deemed necessary. His recruitment drive began immediately. That was why he wore Capri pants to his unveiling. Showing a little leg can't hurt when trying to get a world-class player to sign.

As Real Madrid have nothing more than pride to play for in La Liga, Zidane’s main focus is targeting the positions needed to improve. Some galactico signings might be on the horizon. Here are three that would top the list if I had the legend's ear.
