6 Premier League players who will miss the start of next season

Thursday 8th June 2017
For players in the Premier League, the last thing they want is to be injured. Even worse is to get injured at the end of the season missing the last games or even missing the start of the next season. So let's take a look at who could be missing the start of next season due to injury but have a set return date.

Yannick Bolasie

The Congolese winger who currently plays for Everton has been highly praised over the past couple of seasons. Since joining from Crystal Palace for a fee of £25M, Bolasie has made 13 league appearances scoring just one time. He suffered an ACL knee injury which could leave him out right up until the start of 2018.

Callum Wilson

The Bournemouth striker hasn't had much luck with injuries recently. On September 26th, 2015 Wilson ruptured an interior cruciate ligament in his right knee. This led him to be out for up to six months. Roughly a year after returning from his injury, Wilson, unfortunately, ruptured his interior cruciate ligament but this time it was his left knee. He is expected to be back around the middle of October.

Eden Hazard

Regarded as one of the most talented footballers in the world, Eden Hazard is one of those players that people are always talking about. The 26-year-old winger arrived at Chelsea in 2012 from Lille for a fee of £32M. You could agree that's a lot of money but most people will say it is money well spent. Hazard is considered to be among the list of elite players in the Premier League.
The Belgian international has 57 goals in 174 league appearances for Chelsea. Not a bad return for a winger. Hazard suffered an ankle injury recently but he is expected to be back to full fitness by September. This will mean missing the start of the season. Hazard hopes to be back sooner rather than later.

Santi Cazorla

The Spanish midfielder currently playing for Arsenal hasn't had the best of times over the past 2 seasons. He has only managed to appear 23 times in the Premier League for the Gunners in the past 24 months, scoring twice. This is due to injury problems and setbacks. Cazorla suffered a plantaris injury meaning this will rule the technical midfielder out until November this year.

Ilkay Gundogan

Since joining Man City in 2016, Ilkay Gundogan has impressed pundits despite only playing 10 league games. The German international joined from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of £20M. In May 2017, Gundogan suffered an ACL knee injury. He is expected to return sometime in September. Just missing out on the start of the new season.

Dean Marney

A great example of a loyal player. Dean Marney has been with Burnley since 2010. He has made 221 appearances in all competitions for The Clarets with a total of 10 goals. The English midfielder born in Barking came through the youth ranks at Tottenham Hotspur. He made a few appearances at Spurs before being loaned out on numerous occasions.
Four years after breaking through to the first team Marney found himself a new club, Hull City. He would go on to make 125 league appearances before transferring to Burnley. Since Burnley's promotion back to the Premier League Marney made 21 league appearances scoring 1 time in the 2016/17 season. This shows that he is still a vital player to the club.

Marney suffered an ACL knee injury and will be expected to return around October later this year. This means missing out on the start of the 2017/18 season.

There are other players that are out injured as of now who may miss the start of the season but they don't have return dates yet. This concludes the evaluation of players who will miss the start of next season with return dates.
Jamie Kynaston

For my sins, I'm a season ticket holder at Stoke City, I have been proud to watch them for over 20 years. I follow most of the UK leagues and the major European ones too, and I've been told that I talk way too much about football.
