Arsenal, Preston and Doncaster the Picks for a Winning Weekend

Friday 28th November 2014
Our regular tipster Michael is away this week so stepping into the breach is Steve Chambers who is looking at away fixtures this weekend to help bolster the IRAIW Christmas kitty.

A full fixture list will be available for punters this weekend as they lock horns with the bookmakers once more to try and find some winning football bets.  We have picked out our three best bets of the weekend and the treble will pay just under 15/2 with BetVictor, as a £20 bet with return a decent £167.48.

Arsenal to beat West Bromwich Albion @ 9/10

A sorry defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League last weekend would've left many worried fans heading to the Emirates on Wednesday evening for their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund, but a 2-0 win saw the Gunners return to winning ways and they can follow that up in Saturday's early kick-off with victory over West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.

Arsene Wenger's men may be struggling to convert their chances domestically as they missed a hatful of opportunities against United, but they face a Baggies side that have a shocking record against their North London opponents and the likes of Alexis Sanchez could have a field day against a flaky West Brom defence and BetVictor's 9/10 is more than generous about an away win.

Preston North End to beat Yeovil Town @ 21/20

Preston North End were the team of the week in League One last weekend as they beat high-flying Bristol City at Ashton Gate and the Lilywhites can build on that fine West Country success on Saturday by easing past lowly Yeovil Town, who are finding things in the third tier a constant struggle.

The Glovers may have beaten Notts County last weekend, but they still sit in the relegation zone and are struggling to keep out opponents, so with Preston's array of attacking talent likely to cause problems throughout the match then the 21/20 available with BetVictor is worth snapping up to hand us a double on the day.

Doncaster Rovers to beat Crewe Alexandra @ 23/20

Crewe Alexandra are another side like the aforementioned Yeovil that are struggling to put together a string of positive results and they host a Doncaster Rovers side on Saturday that have won three of their last four games in all competitions and are gradually working their way up League One, and will still have aspirations of venturing into the top half.

A 3-1 win at Rochdale last weekend was a fine victory for the Yorkshire side and with Crewe coming into the contest on the back of a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Leyton Orient then it's tough to see anything but a Doncaster victory, as Crewe will remain cemented to the foot of the table as we head into December.

BetVictor have yet again dangled an attractive betting carrot and the 23/20 about an away victory is too good to miss and Rovers can complete our tasty treble that will see an eye-catching return of £167.48 from a £20 bet.
Steve Chambers
Steve has been avid follower of Bristol City and trips to Ashton Gate since the mid 1990s have seen him fall in love with the club, but success has hardly been a regular emotion felt by him and twin that with England's failures he has not tasted to many exciting days as a football fan. However, he enjoys all parts of the "Beautiful Game" and whether it's a Champions League match or Conference clash, Steve enjoys watching the heat of the battle. Sport is certainly his passion, but football is the one that gets him excited the most and he will be looking to provide some informative, yet sometimes controversial pieces for you to enjoy as the reader.
