Cardiff and West Ham Taken To Pick Up Three Points In This Weekend's Treble

Friday 30th August 2013
Another thrilling weekend of football is on the cards so without further ado, here's the weekly treble from Mick Bates for anyone fancying a flutter.

On this occasion, we are opting for a confident Cardiff to carry the momentum from their stunning win against Man City into Saturday's fixture at home to an Everton side who are yet to win a game under new boss Roberto Martinez, together with an unbeaten West Ham to come out on top at home to Stoke, while in the Championship, the game between Leeds and QPR at Elland Road looks to have draw written all over it.

A successful £10 bet with Sky returns £224.40!

Cardiff v Everton - home win @ 23/10

Cardiff produced the shock of the season so far when they fought back from a goal down to stun title favourites Man City 3-2 at the Cardiff City Stadium last Sunday. The victory was their first ever in the Premier League and sent a few shock waves around the top-flight in the process. Home form will be crucial to the Welsh club's chances of survival this season and they will now fancy their chances of getting the three points against an Everton side who have yet to register a win this season under new boss Roberto Martinez.

Cardiff have been handed best-priced odds of 23/10 to do just that and grab their second win of the campaign.

West Ham United v Stoke City - home win @ evens

The Hammers have enjoyed a bright start to the season, comprehensively beating Cardiff 2-0 at home on the opening day, before coming away from Newcastle with a respectable goalless draw having deserved the win by all accounts. The Hammers were strong at Upton Park last season and should continue to impress in front of their own fans this campaign.

In contrast, Stoke struggled on the road in 2012/13, winning just two of their 19 matches away from home. Furthermore, The Potters were defeated 1-0 at Liverpool in their opening game of the current campaign, while they only narrowly beat Crystal Palace at home last weekend.

At a price of even money, Sam Allardyce's men look well worth backing. They have yet to concede this season and can continue their good start on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United v QPR - draw @ 12/5

Leeds and QPR is an exciting fixture in any season, but it promises to be an absolute corker at this early stage due to the bright starts both sides have made. Championship favourites QPR are fourth having picked up an impressive 10 points from four games, while Leeds are two points and two places behind in sixth. Both teams are unbeaten, which should mean we could be in store for a competitive clash on Saturday.

With this in mind, the draw looks like the way to go at odds of 12/5. Neither side will want to lose their first game of the campaign, and if the game ends with the points shared they will each view it as a decent result.
Mick Bates

Mick is a passionate fan of Coventry City and has watched from the sidelines (and had the privilege of seeing the inner workings during an exciting two years in corporate sales there) to see the once mighty Sky Blues fall from the Premier League, then fail to sparkle in the Championship, relegated from League One and wind up in League Two before winning the most important fixture in football competitions - The Checkatrade Trophy final followed by a heart-stopping promotion back to League One.

As well as supporting the Sky Blues, Mick appreciates all levels of football and loves a good book to keep himself entertained as well as a few hours on FIFA or Football Manager as time allows.

He also keeps an eye on all the major English leagues and regularly enjoys a flutter looking for that elusive treble!
