Champions League Treble: Porto, Liverpool & Anderlecht

Tuesday 25th November 2014
The penultimate round of the Champions League group stage fixtures take place this week, Jack Kitson looks at a whole host of crunch clashes spread throughout the fifth wave matches.

As the excitement builds we provide you with a tasty treble, starting on Tuesday where we are fully confident that Group H leaders Porto will condemn sorry BATE Borisov to a third consecutive defeat. Then, on the following day, we are placing our faith in a rejuvenated Anderlecht to grab the spoils against an out of form Galatarasay, and also Liverpool to bounce back by beating Ludogorets Razgrad in their crunch Group B game.

A successful £20 bet with Betfred will win you juicy returns of £141.13. Good luck!

Tuesday 25 November: BATE Borisov v Porto - away win @ 8/13 with Bet Victor

We kick-off this week's Champions League treble in Belarus where we are backing the 2004 champions Porto to swat away the challenge of BATE Borisov. The 27-time winners of the Primeira Liga currently top Group H after accumulating 10 points from four matches (3W 1D). As a result they have booked their place in the last-16, although top spot is not assured, meaning they will be going all out for the win on Tuesday.

Porto face a side who have suffered three excruciatingly painful defeats, leaving their hopes of qualifying in tatters. In their first game BATE were hammered 6-0 in Portugal, before they surprisingly bounced back by recording a shock victory over Athletic Bilbao. However, they have since demoralisingly been torn apart by Shakhtar Donetsk who registered an aggregate score of 12-0 in the pair's home-and-away matches.

Wednesday 26 November: Ludogorets Razgrad v Liverpool - away win @ 20/21 with Betfred

Liverpool may seem a strange pick given their atrocious form of late - four defeats on the spin - however if they can't raise their game for Wednesday's crunch clash away to European minnows Ludogorets, then they never will. The Reds simply have to win in order to keep alive their hopes of progressing through to the group stages, and Brendan Rodgers' men have an excellent chance to draw level with top-2 rivals FC Basel (on 6 points) who have the daunting task of facing the might of Real Madrid.

Liverpool won the corresponding fixture against the Bulgarian underdogs 2-1 at Anfield, and they will now be expected to complete the double at the Ludogorets Arena. Betfred have handed the Merseyside outfit odds of 20/21 to do just that, while a 2-1 triumph is worth considering at 8/1.

Wednesday 26 November - Anderlecht v Galatasaray - home win @ 13/10 with Betfred

Anderlecht have an excellent chance of recording their first Group D victory when they lock horns with rock-bottom Galatasaray at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium. The Belgian champions head into the match on the back of a stunning comeback away to Arsenal, when they miraculously came back from three goals down to snatch a prized point at the Emirates. The result kept their faint chances of progressing alive, which they can bolster on Wednesday with a victory at home to a woefully out of form Galatasaray, who have lost four of their last six games in all competitions.

The Turkish side have failed to register a point since drawing at home to Anderlecht in the opening group game. Since then Cesare Prandelli's confidence depleted troops have been thumped by Arsenal (4-1), and then twice by Borussia Dortmund (0-4 & 4-1). The hat-trick of devastating defeats means they are now priced way out at 300/1 (Ladbrokes) to defy the odds and progress through to the knockout-stages.
