Sing When You're Winning - Exciting Weekend Treble On The Cards

Friday 1st March 2013
There is a full list of Premier and Football League fixtures for punters to sink their teeth into this weekend and we have picked out a potentially lucrative treble to take advantage of. There is plenty of value around as always and a £10 stake on all three winning returns a very impressive £130.92 with Ladbrokes which would be very welcome indeed. Our betting slip this week features matches in the Premier League, the Championship and League One to ensure that we get the very best bang for our buck!

Stoke City v West Ham – Home Win @ 11/10 with Ladbrokes

Our first stop this week is the Britannia Stadium where Stoke City play host to West Ham in what is sure to be a physical clash. It is fair to say that there won't be much beautiful football on show here but the record of Stoke at home ensures they are hard to oppose. Both of these sides rarely pick up points on the road and given the fact that Stoke have lost just once at home so far this season, it is hard to see the Hammers winning here. West Ham have scored just eight goals on the road this season in the league and although they played well against Spurs on Monday, they go into the match having lost four of their last five games which is enough for us to side with the home team.

Middlesbrough v Cardiff City – Away Win @ 11/8 with Ladbrokes

The second part of our weekend treble sees us head to the North East to take in Middlesbrough against Cardiff in a battle of two promotion contenders in the Championship. Cardiff have been in scintillating form all season under Malky Mackay and find themselves eight points clear at the top of the table. Middlesbrough on the other hand have slipped down the table in recent weeks and find themselves outside of the play-off places, having won just one of their last nine league games. That is a worrying run of form for Manager Tony Mowbray and the visit of a ruthless Cardiff team to the Riverside is hardly the ideal fixture at the moment. Cardiff won on the road last weekend away at Wolves and with Boro on the slide at the moment, the 11/8 available about a Cardiff away win looks like cracking value to this eye.

Coventry v Swindon Town – Home Win @ 13/8 with Ladbrokes

Our third and final port of call this weekend is the Ricoh Arena for an intriguing clash between Coventry City and Swindon Town in League One. This is another meeting between two sides who both have their eye on promotion this season and the three points here will be fiercely contested with just six points separating fourth placed Swindon and eighth placed Coventry . The top eight in League one are separated by just nine points and a win for Coventry here would put them right in the play-off mix, while Swindon are looking to consolidate their promotions hopes with another good away performance. The Robins have however struggled since Paolo Di Canio left the club (drawing and losing in the two games since the Italian left) and they are taking on a Sky Blues side who are high on confidence having beaten Bournemouth on Tuesday night. Swindon do have a good record on the road this season but they could be facing the Sky Blues at just the wrong time, meaning that the 13/8 available about a home win here is a nice addition to our Weekend Treble.
Mick Bates

Mick is a passionate fan of Coventry City and has watched from the sidelines (and had the privilege of seeing the inner workings during an exciting two years in corporate sales there) to see the once mighty Sky Blues fall from the Premier League, then fail to sparkle in the Championship, relegated from League One and wind up in League Two before winning the most important fixture in football competitions - The Checkatrade Trophy final followed by a heart-stopping promotion back to League One.

As well as supporting the Sky Blues, Mick appreciates all levels of football and loves a good book to keep himself entertained as well as a few hours on FIFA or Football Manager as time allows.

He also keeps an eye on all the major English leagues and regularly enjoys a flutter looking for that elusive treble!
