Fabregas Sale to Help Club

Thursday 11th August 2011
Arsenal captain Francesc Fabregas is believed to be finally heading out of Arsenal in a move thought to be around £35 million. Barcelona have pursued the Spanish ace throughout the summer and appear to be close to getting their man.

The money generated from the sale is rumoured to be invested back into the squad. This could see Arsenal land targets, Phil Jagielka and Gary Cahill amongst others. Many Arsenal fans will be relieved to see their back line bolstered with the signings of established Premier League quality.

Fabregas is indicative of the transfer policy currently adopted by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. They sourced him cheaply from the continent and matured him into a superb player. Unfortunately this policy has yet to yield much success meaning that the sale of Fabregas could also see the sale of a whole set of foundations and generate a change in transfer policy from the Arsenal boss.

Fans will be keen to see the money invested in established talent, talent that can help the club maintain its top four status and push for trophies across all fronts.

It will be interesting to see where and how this money is spent and whether Arsenal are more successful as a result. Time will tell.
