Five players desperate for new clubs at the end of the January transfer window

Sunday 29th January 2017
The January transfer window ends next Tuesday but there are still a few players who will be looking for new clubs come February. We at It's Round and It's White have identified five who will be searching for a move as the deadline looms.

Dimitri Payet

It's been well documented that West Ham's Dimitri Payet is desperate for a move back to his homeland after nearly two seasons at the Hammers.

The midfielder, who scored 15 goals last season, establishing himself as a fan favourite, has not enjoyed his time as much this year in London. He has submitted a transfer request in order to find a move away from the London Stadium.

Marseille remains the favourites to sign the former Lille playmaker, but interest from money-inflated, China, could persuade the 32-timed capped Frenchman to move to Asia.

With West Ham fans furious at his treatment of the club, it's highly unlikely that the Hammers will look to keep Payet beyond the end of January.

Gaston Ramirez

Middlesbrough became somewhat stunned last week to learn that playmaker Gaston Ramirez was targeting a move to Premier League champions, Leicester, meaning that they would have a task on their hands to keep him.

The Uruguayan - formerly of Southampton - was indispensable to Aitor Karanka's men during last season's promotion campaign from the Championship, scoring seven goals in 18 matches during his loan spell at The Riverside.

However, the 26-year-old is now seeking a chance in Champions League football and Leicester can give him that opportunity.

Ross McCormack

Steve Bruce's comments about the excuses Ross McCormack has given for missing training have left the former Birmingham boss no choice but to try and sell the Scottish forward.

The former Leeds striker, who arrived at Villa Park for a fee of £12m from Fulham last summer, is arguably one of the Championship's finest forwards on his day, but his attitude has disappointed the Villains faithful this season.

McCormack was linked with a move back to Fulham but rumours have sufficed about how the Cottagers' players warned boss Slavisa Jokanovic about the move, claiming he'd be a distraction to the team.

Robbie Brady

The versatile Norwich midfielder has been at the heart of much speculation this January transfer window, with the likes of Sunderland, Burnley and Crystal Palace all rumoured to be interested in the former Manchester United trainee.

The Republic of Ireland international scored twice during Euro 2016 and has a wonderful left-foot being capable of playing at left-back or left-wing to boost any team's squad.

He's too good to be playing Championship football and with Norwich seemingly unlikely to make the play-off positions, Brady will be seeking a move to the Premier League.

Asmir Begovic

Chelsea's second-choice keeper has been a surprise name linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge. The Bosnian, who is an excellent goalkeeper for the Premier League, has found appearance time limited this season following the superb displays of current number one; Thibaut Courtois.

The former Stoke and Portsmouth shot-stopper will now be searching to place himself as number one at another club, with Chelsea rumoured to be seeking his replacement in Celtic and Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon.

Bournemouth are one club linked with Begovic and if the right price is negotiated, then we could see the keeper finding the much-needed game time that his ability deserves.
