5 potential Jose Mourinho replacements at Manchester United

Saturday 29th September 2018

Manchester United Football Club finds themselves in a predicament. Third-season syndrome is well and truly kicking in for Jose Mourinho. Do the Old Trafford hierarchy stick or twist?

The self-proclaimed Special One has seemingly fallen out with Paul Pogba. It's a story we've seen several times over, just ask Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard and many more...

We all know how this tale ends. Unfortunately for Mourinho, he may well find himself unemployed once again in the not too distant future. That's if the script continues to play out in a similar manner as to how it has done previously.

With player-power being so prominent in the modern-day game, the 55-year-old will be lucky to be in a job come Christmas. Not only that, though, he's picked a fight with United's biggest cash-cow. Edward Woodward loves those big-name signings who sell shirts, as he sits in front of his computer watching the social media following increase. Pogba is a major part in that. He's an immensely marketable young man. Although it may cost the Red Devils £12million to sack their manager, they'd make that back pretty easily thanks to a certain French midfielder...

Anyway, with that in mind, we've decided to draw up a five-man shortlist of names who could replace Mourinho in the United hot-seat. There are one or two left-field picks, some obvious choices and one budding coach who has been learning his trade upon Salford Quays. Anyway, let's get right to it.
