Is Neymar Manchester United's Answer?

Thursday 1st December 2016
According the Manchester Evening News  this morning, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, has told the board at Old Trafford that he wants to reignite their interest in Barcelona winger Neymar.

The Red Devils were linked with a move for the Brazilian International over the summer, with many believing the deal could happen. The Catalan giants raised his release clause to £180 million, and this inevitably lead United to look elsewhere.

Report has it that Neymar is keen on being the ‘dominant one' at whichever club he plays, which he isn't currently as Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are all vying for the ‘top dog' position.
If Manchester United were to land Neymar in the January Transfer Window, they would have to splash out a whopping £180 million for the superstar, this would break the Transfer Record which they set 3 months ago when they paid £89 million for Paul Pogba.

But like we have seen with the struggling form of Pogba, sometimes throwing huge amounts of money around the Transfer Market is not the answer, so would it work with Neymar?

Well, the attacking line of United will soon have to be upgraded, with 31-year old skipper Wayne Rooney not the goal scorer he was of days gone by. And main striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 36 next year, they will have to splash out to replace those two veterans.

Neymar brings youth, being only 24, and his attacking and direct wing play of the left side of the pitch for Barcelona is something that Manchester United as a club is built on – and something they have failed to recreate since Cristiano Ronaldo's departure to Real Madrid in 2009.

He recently signed a contract extension with the La Liga side in July, however Guillem Ballague  brandished this as a ‘sticking plaster' to hide the damage done by the alleged tax evasion and fraud in his £40 million move from Santos 3 seasons ago.

El Pais and most of the Spanish press have it that Neymar demanded £36 million to his childhood club, Santos, and £40 million direct to his family, some that FIFA do not allow. The corruption was unveiled to the public in the Summer, furthering the rocky situation between Neymar and Barcelona.

Last week Spain's public prosecutor demanded that Neymar serves a 2-year jail sentence for his alleged corruption in the Transfer, further fuelling speculation that he wants out of the Camp Nou and the country.

It seems that Old Trafford would be a perfect fit. Jose Mourinho scouted the Winger in-depth whilst he was playing in Brazil and he is apparently keen on bringing him to the Premier League, however would face stern competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who have also expressed their interest in him.
In conclusion, there is no doubt that Neymar would bring a whole different spectrum and class to Manchester United, his pace, flair and trickery would win the fans over instantly, and his goals and assists would also prove why he is rated as one of the best players on the planet. However likely or unlikely it is that he will join United, he would certainly be the answer.word
