Leicester City have a real gem on their hands in the form of Ahmed Musa

Thursday 4th August 2016
Claudio Ranieri delivered Leicester City their first Premier League title last season, with the Italian masterminding one of the greatest success stories in the history of our beautiful game. The Foxes won the title at a canter, and many think they are in for a real struggle this term.

With just one month left in the transfer window, the fans thought that Leicester would have lost plenty of key players to their so-called bigger clubs, but so far, the only man who has left is N'Golo Kante; and Leicester City replaced him with an astute signing in Nampalys Mendy – a 24-year-old powerhouse.
On top of that, the King Power are in for a real treat this season ahead, too. Ranieri sanctioned a club record £15.5million fee to bring in Ahmed Musa from CSKA Moscow, who is one of the most underrated attackers in European football.

Musa, 23, from Nigeria, has pace to burn, a deadly finish and a real intelligent style of football, and to be quite honest, I'm surprised that no other clubs were sniffing around for his signature.

In Russia, Musa formed an excellent partnership with Seydou Doumbia up top, and CSKA's front line gave Manchester United a real problem in European competition last season. The Nigerian ended the campaign with an impressive seventeen goals in all competitions - and a lot of the time he was played out wide.

The Foxes now have even more pace to an already frightening attack. Jamie Vardy looks set to stay and if Ranieri can keep hold of Riyad Mahrez, and then add Ahmed Musa on top of that. What a devastating counter-attacking front trio they have. Perhaps the most exciting thing about this threesome is that they can all interlink and roam wherever they so please, we could witness something special this season.

We've already seen a glimpse of what Musa can do, and although it's only pre-season, scoring twice against FC Barcelona is something to be excited about. Not only that, though, it's the manner in which he took those goals. His first in particular was special. He jinked his way through the stern defence of the Catalan giants before coolly slotting home and dragging Leicester City back into the game.

Leicester takes on United in the Community Shield this weekend, and Musa is certainly a player to keep an eye on. With United's poor defence, his pace could be used to devastating effect, and with a top coach in Claudio Ranieri giving him instructions, Musa has the ability to become a real fan favourite at the King Power.

If there any Fantasy Football players amongst you, Ahmed Musa is certainly worth the gamble, and he could reap you the rewards with a hatful of points.

The only negative with Musa is the fact that Leicester will lose his services for a month or so every couple of years due to the African Cup of Nations, but at this point in time that isn't really anything to worry about.
