Ligue 1 Preview: Can anyone hang with Paris Saint-Germain?

Friday 10th August 2018

As expected, Paris Saint-Germain dominated Ligue 1 last season, winning the title with five games to spare. Opponents have it all to do to catch the champions.

Lyon, Monaco and Marseille are expected to put up a stronger challenge this time around. But that will be an uphill task given the strength and financial muscle of the reigning champions. On the continent, Marseille reached the Europa League final last term. Achieving Champions League qualification will be Rudi Garcia's concern this time around.

Toulouse and Lille struggled to maintain topflight status in the last campaign. For Le Téfécé, survival required a playoff win. Stade Rennais was the surprise package. Les Rouges et Noirs finished fifth, ahead of Bordeaux, St Etienne and OGC Nice.

Here's a look at all 20 teams.
