Luton and Shrewsbury Highlight Lower League Weekend Treble Bet

Friday 14th November 2014
There may be an International Break to take in this weekend but that doesn't stop us from looking for our weekly lucrative treble bet as usual with the Lower Leagues catching our attention.

We have scoured the coupon looking for three bets to put together as a treble and we have come up with what we believe to be an excellent selection this week. We have two matches in League Two to look forward and one down in the conference which will return a nice £65.52 from a £10 stake if they are all successful.

Luton Town v Tranmere Rovers– Home win @ 11/10 with Bet Victor

We head into League Two for our first selection to take in the game between Luton and Tranmere and it is the home team here who offer the value for our treble. Luton go into this game in 2nd place off of the back of four successive wins and they should have too much for a struggling Tranmere side who are down in 23rd spot and floundering as they search for their next three points in the League. Tranmere have had a good week in the FA Cup and the Football League Trophy but their League form has been awful so far with only two wins to their name and just one on the road which came all the way back in August. As for Luton, they have not tasted defeat in the League since the 6th September while they have won eight of their last ten games during that period which has seen move into the automatic promotion places in League Two. They have won five of their eight games at home and given that they are as big as 11/10 to win this match, they make a very attractive addition to our treble coupon this week.

Shrewsbury Town v Mansfield Town– Home win @ 3/5 with Bet Victor

With the big boys of the Premier League and Championship on their International break we stay in League Two for our second selection this week with Shrewsbury playing host to Mansfield in an important fixture. The New Meadow outfit have rocketed up the table over the past month or so with five successive League victories and they go into this one as the warm favourites to claim the victory this weekend. Mansfield are without a League victory since the 20th September, losing three and drawing four since, and a trip to Shrewsbury has surely come at just the wrong time for the Stags on Saturday. Mansfield have only scored 14 goals from their 16 games which is a woeful record by any standard while they have just a single win away from home this season which means that backing Luton at 3/5 with Bet Victor looks like a very decent price for our coupon. These two sides have not met since 2008 having been in and out of the football League but it is the Shrews who are the stronger outfit at the moment and they are our selection here.

Altrincham v Grimsby Town – Away win @ 19/20 with Bet Victor

Our third and final selection this week sees us drop down into the Conference Premier for the game between Altrincham and Grimsby. The pair of them played out a goalless draw back in October but it is Grimsby who are the team to follow here given their recent form and they look a decent price to claim victory at 19/20 with Bet Victor. The Shrimpers have won five of their last seven games to move up into second place in the table with their last three victories coming in successive games and without conceding a goal in the process. Altrincham on the other hand have been inconsistent in recent weeks which has seen them slip down the table ahead of this game on Saturday and that is enough to side with the away team here. The Mariners look a much stronger unit at the moment both in attack and defence and many are starting to believe that they can now make a real push to back into the Football League this season and that coupled with their price if 19/20 ensures that they make plenty of appeal as a nice addition to our treble with Bet Victor.

Mick is a passionate fan of Coventry City and has watched from the sidelines (and had the privilege of seeing the inner workings during an exciting two years in corporate sales there) to see the once mighty Sky Blues fall from the Premier League, then fail to sparkle in the Championship, relegated from League One and wind up in League Two before winning the most important fixture in football competitions - The Checkatrade Trophy final followed by a heart-stopping promotion back to League One.

As well as supporting the Sky Blues, Mick appreciates all levels of football and loves a good book to keep himself entertained as well as a few hours on FIFA or Football Manager as time allows.

He also keeps an eye on all the major English leagues and regularly enjoys a flutter looking for that elusive treble!
