It's always fascinating to watch youngsters run riot. Such reassures fans that football's future is safe. That's one reason a certain Turkish forward gained much attention when initially showing promise.

Emre Mor entered the limelight while donning Borussia Dortmund's yellow and black. His style resembled a legendary Argentine which earned him the nickname 'Turkish Messi'. Beside possessing lightning pace, he's also a fine dribbler who's confident in possession.

Mor's versatility enables him to play any attacking role. He's best suited to the right-wing, from which he cuts onto his stronger left foot and causes havoc with powerful shots.

Despite his talent, Mor couldn't cut it at Dortmund. He was sold to Celta Vigo in August 2017 after making 19 appearances, scoring just once. His time in Spain proved disappointing, too. The 22-year-old netted one goal in 39 matches.

So, what went wrong?

Truth be told, Mor isn't serious about his football. The Danish-born's nonchalant attitude during training limited his playing time at Dortmund. Managers have no reason to rely on a player who doesn't give his all.

This led to a reduction in Mor's performance. At Celta Vigo, he either came on as a late substitute or didn't feature at all. When chosen, his form left a lot to be desired. He failed to score a single goal last season.

Now Galatasaray's problem to solve, the Turkish giant will hope Mor matures while on loan. There's no doubt a genuine talent waiting to be unlocked.

Galatasaray provide a platform for Mor to get back on track. He must meet the challenge head-on. Someone of his ability should be offering more than what he's doing at present.

All youngsters have to hone their skills in order to improve. In recent times, Kylian Mbappe, 20, has emerged as a world-class attacker at Paris Saint-Germain. Mor's former Dortmund teammate, Ousmane Dembele, 22, although still not the finished product, has a strong reputation at Barcelona.

Those two are clearly exceeding Mor. The Turk needs polishing. His new manager, Fatih Terim will test him this campaign hoping to successfully unleash a potent weapon.

If that's achieved, Mor will play a vital part in Galatasaray's attempt to defend their Super Lig crown, as well as challenge for other domestic honours. He must realize how great he can become. A positive behavioural change will ensure a promising future.

Mor has to maximize every chance he gets. Galatasaray's next game is on Friday, away at Kayserispor. Terim's team have started Super Lig slowly. They're 13th in the table after picking up one point from their opening two matches.

One moment of brilliance from Mor will help him regain his confidence. Then, he can concentrate on hitting top form for a prolonged period.

Top-quality strikers are in high demand and they usually command a jaw-dropping transfer fee. Should Mor prove his worth at Galatasaray, bigger clubs will come knocking. Whether he shines very soon or it takes a little longer, his potential merits attention. Don't write off the Turkish Messi just yet.
