My Weekend Bets.

Saturday 22nd October 2011
Hello everyone,

As I'm hoping to post my bets on here fairly regularly, it's probably best that I mention a couple of things:

  • My bets are only ever on the Win Market

  • I only bet on the top leagues in any given county (I'm a football-snob and first touch is everything)

  • My bets are just my opinion,  which can hopefully be used as a helpful reference

  • Please feel free to offer any input and/or add me as a friend

This weekend I have chosen three teams to back - I feel all three teams have an edge over their opponents, and that their odds offer pretty decent value.

  1. Tottenham (away to Blackburn): 17/20 on Victor Chandler:  I don't necessarily believe that Blackburn are as woeful as their results might suggest.  Hoilett has impressed,  they have fighting spirit (shown against a brittle Arsenal earlier on in the season,  and when coming back from a goal down last week away to QPR) and Salgado is out with a hamstring injury which, given that my Grandmother can run as fast as him, is likely a positive.  Despite this,  Spurs are hot right now and they should have too much for Blackburn.  Most of their key players were rested mid-week in the Europa League, and they also managed a 2-2 draw at St James Park last Sunday which is no mean feat.

  2. Fiorentina (home to Catania): 8/11  on Bet365: I don't often bet on Serie A as Italian football isn't always the most consistent,  neither is it normally packed with goals.  Fiorentina do however have a pretty decent head to head record against their opponents and although they are behind Catania in the league,  they do have a better goal difference.  Catania have conceded an average of 3 goals per game on their travels this season and are yet to record an away victory.  Fiorentina have a good home record, scoring an average of 2 goals per game to boot.

  3. Hertha Berlin (home to Mainz 05): 1/1 at various bookmakers:  Hertha Berlin have a respectable home record in the Bundesliga this season and are up against a Mainz team who are in dire form.  Berlin on average are currently scoring more at home than conceding,  whilst Mainz are currently conceding more away than they are scoring.

Three separate bets on these 3 will return just over 83% profit if they all come in.   If only two come in it will still be profitable.

I will also be doing a couple of cheeky low stakes accumulators:

  •  A Treble on the above teams offers just over 5/1.

  •  A 5 fold accumulator with the above 3 teams, as well as  Newcastle who are at home to Wigan. Newcastle are unbeaten this season and the Lactics are without a win away in something like a million games.  I will also be adding Chelsea who are away at QPR. Rangers have not won at home in about..a million games,  and Chelsea are beginning to look a potent force. This would offer odds of just over 12/1; I will be making this bet on Victor Chandler as they offer refunded stakes on any 5 fold accumulator where only one result does not come in.

I'll let you know how I get on.
