Newcastle Ready For Chelsea Visit

Tuesday 29th November 2011
Newcastle United welcome Chelsea to St James's Park this weekend. Alongside 52,000 Geordie fans, Pardew has promised not to make things easy for the London club.

The whole team proved themselves a force to be reckoned with after the 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Saturday. Surviving a continued red devil onslaught in the last 20 minutes with ten men, showing that Newcastle's position in the league this season is not down to luck, but skill of the players.

Despite this some pundits still doubt whether Newcastle can perform like this all season. But if manager Alan Pardew can get his players to grind out the results all season, than soon enough they will jump onto the Geordie band wagon.

No doubt with the visit of Chelsea this weekend, Pardew must be confident that his team can come away with all three points. Chelsea's form of late has come under question, and with the two good performances against both Manchester clubs, we can be confident of a positive results. Pardew told the press today:

"We've set ourselves up for Chelsea. We have one of the big clubs coming to us and they will be fearing coming to us infront of 52,000 Geordies."

Pardew made the point earlier in the season that the crowd at St James' Park is pivotal in making the stadium a fortress once again. Since coming to the club Pardew has worked wonders, and with the positive results this season, the Geordies are coming back to the club. Come 3pm on Saturday afternoon, St James' Park will be a complete sell out, making it a cauldron of success for the Magpies.

A win would guarantee Newcastle fourth place, no matter what the other results are. This would be a great way to start December, and with 18 points available this month it would be a confidence boast so the time can push on for the rest of the month.
