Patience Is Key For Chelsea FC

Tuesday 22nd November 2011
Not something associated with a Billionaire Oligarch but will be necessary by Roman Abramovich. Whoever was appointed to succeed Carlo Ancelotti was always going to need time to shape the Chelsea Squad into his version of Chelsea. For years Chelsea's have relied on the magnificent service of Petr Cech (29), John Terry (30), Frank Lampard (33) and Didier Drogba (33) the problem is no manager has been able to make Chelsea function without these players.

On Sunday Liverpool won at Stamford Bridge without Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard point proven and at Old Trafford Sir Alex has used Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville to bring on the next generation so now Wayne Rooney, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra can bring on the next crop of players a fantastic cycle of success which has been allowed by having the same manager in charge.

The challenge for Roman is to stick with Andre Villas Boas, the manager he has hired to create a newer younger Chelsea team. AVB has brought well in Juan Mata and Oriol Romeu and Romelu Lukaku, who could well complement Josh McEachran in the dawning of the ‘new' Chelsea but he will need another Summer Transfer Window to get more of his own players into the Squad and play his way.

He just needs one thing; patience.
