Premier League: Five left-backs Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool should consider in the summer

Sunday 2nd April 2017
Despite James Milner regularly slotting in at left back for Liverpool this season, the Reds will most likely be searching for a permanent player to fill that spot next season so It's Round and It's White have suggested five players who could be targets for Jurgen Klopp.

Aaron Cresswell

The West Ham left-back has already shown what he can do in the Premier League, with many excellent performances in the position in East London.

The former Ipswich defender is originally from the Liverpool area and would love a move to his hometown if there is an opportunity to do so.

However, given the fact that Cresswell received his first call-up for England last year and is a key member of the Hammers squad, you imagine a deal to prize the 27-year-old away would be a pricey one.

Ryan Bertrand

The Liverpool and Southampton connection could continue if the Reds decide to explore the option of adding the former Chelsea left-back to their ranks.

The England international would certainly be a solid addition to Southampton if he was to make the move to Anfield to link up with former Saints, Saido Mane, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren.

With his ability to attack and defend 27-year-old, could be a perfect signing for Liverpool in that left-back role.

Ricardo Rodriguez

The Swiss defender has already made a name for himself in Europe as an attacking full-back with the ability to find the net too.

The Wolfsburg man has managed to find the net 20 times for his side during his career, with 43 caps to his name already for the country of his birth.

Rodriguez is certainly a talented player and would be a superb addition to the Premier League. Given that he is 24 years-old, he should not be a cheap signing but definitely one that could be made.

Jose Gaya

The 21-year-old Spaniard has been linked with a whole host of clubs recently including Arsenal and he too would fit within the Liverpool squad.

The defender's Valencia side have not had the most glittering of campaigns with the Oranges currently sitting in 14th place in La Liga.

Consequently, this would mean that Gaya would surely be tempted by a move to a side that is likely to be in the Champions League or definitely in the Europa League.

Therefore, Gaya would be a terrific move for Liverpool if Klopp was to explore that option.

Jonas Hector

Someone who was linked to Anfield last summer was German defender Jonas Hector.

With the likes of Chelsea and Bayern Munich also previously interested in the Koln defender, Hector has become a regular for his nation, playing 27  times for Joachim Lowe's side.

A tall, yet quick full-back, the 26-year-old, would give Liverpool a lot going forward and defensively, something that has been hugely relied on with  Milner who is more naturally a midfielder.

With Klopp being German too, you can imagine Hector being tempted with a move to Merseyside if the Reds were to be tempted to make the move.
