Russia 2018 World Cup Preview: Group C

Monday 11th June 2018

Group C at Russia 2018 comes with intrigue aplenty. One-time World Cup winners France are the household name; with Didier Deschamps' men amongst the frontrunners to go all the way. Following Les Bleus, who knows what'll happen. Denmark boasts a tight-knit squad with a smattering of real quality, Peru will be reinvigorated following the news that Paolo Guerrero can in fact play, while Australia will bring their typical never-say-die attitude to the party.

The winners of Group C certainly won't have it easy as they'll go on to face the runners-up of Group D - potentially facing off against Argentina or Croatia in the last sixteen. Favourites France simply cannot afford to slip-up; unless they want to face a star-studded Argentine attack fronted by five-time Ballon d'Or winner, Lionel Messi.

Assuming all goes as you'd expect, the fixture to keep an eye on is Peru against Denmark. This could well decide who finishes in second place, thus moving on into the knockout stages.
