Tiemoue Bakayoko proving why he is a wanted man

Wednesday 22nd February 2017
Not entirely a household name just yet, but remember his name, he is footballs next biggest thing. Tiemoue Bakayoko is a wanted man, and he has done nothing but enhance that fact on Tuesday Evening in front of supporters across the world in the Champions League, completely bossing the midfield when his side took on the might of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

It comes as no surprise when you hear that some of the world's biggest Clubs are currently fighting to sign the 22-year-old holding midfielder with Manchester United and Chelsea both showing genuine interest as well as French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The French U21 International showed real class as he stepped up against the big boys on Tuesday night for his Monaco side who lost 5-3 to Manchester on the night, in what was an emphatic and thoroughly enjoyable game. Bakayoko was certainly a huge part of this, he was strong, quick, good on the ball, broke up attacks and was intelligent when going forward. We certainly have a fantastic prospect on our hands here, just ask Guardiola, who will certainly be concerned about the second leg and Monaco's three away goals.

But the youngster could leave United, Chelsea and a number of other Premier League Clubs disappointed as he shares his love for PSG, stating that he was upset for following advice to join Rennes over PSG when he was younger, with Rennes Academy being one of the best around at the time. But he did state although he knew it was the right thing, he was close to tears.
He went on to say he was happy with Monaco, but should the chance to join PSG present itself in the future, he would certainly consider this. It appears that he has a real love for this Club, naturally.

There are some sources however stating that it is, in fact, Chelsea who are making the moves and pulling the most strings in order to capture the services of Bakayoko, with Manager Antonio Conte driving the move.

At 22, this could be the right time for Bakayoko to make the next step in his career, even though he is part of a very decent Monaco side performing well over in the French Ligue 1.

He has been ever present for both Rennes and Monaco senior squads since 2013 and has played for France at Youth Level for every age group, it is only a matter of time before he makes his full International debut with the raw talent that he possesses. Ironically, he could well be lining up alongside Chelsea's N'Golo Kante for the National side, as well as at Club level, should The Blues get their way.

But being rated at £40 million plus, it will be a large sum to fork out and Chelsea may not wish to get involved in a bidding war. Realistically it is Manchester United who could compete with PSG money wise for the singing of Bakayoko, so we could well see him line up alongside another fellow countryman in the shape of United's Paul Pogba, who would welcome the move.

One thing for sure is that pace is going to gather on this one, as the player continues to gain admirers across the footballing world and keeps on proving himself to be one of the best young midfielders in the game.
