10 wonder goals from the Premier League this season

Friday 28th October 2016
Goals win games! Goals spice up games, it's what gets the fans cheering and screaming like they would burst their windpipe. In football, the goal is to score a goal. Let's talk goals.

I'm someone who always looks out for jaw-dropping strikes in football games. I watch and re-watch every top class goal that flies in. In the current Premier League season, goals have been scored aplenty. Here, I present you, my pick of ten wonder-goals so far this season.

Xherdan Shaqiri vs Hull

Just this past weekend, Xherdan Shaqiri produced a goal from the top drawer to help Stoke City to a 2-nill victory away from home at Hull. The Switzerland international cut inside and blasted a rocket into the top corner!

The man of the match (Shaqiri) also scored a sublime free kick from the edge of the box, but that first goal, phew! Absolutely superb. Stoke won 2-0.

Philippe Coutinho vs Arsenal

In the opening weekend of the Premier League, Brazilian midfielder, Coutinho scored a goal that left Arsenal fans tongue-tied and the Reds fans singing. Arsenal was leading the game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Theo Walcott, but that stunning free-kick from Coutinho brought Liverpool level and poured cold water on the Emirates.

Before Arsenal could recover from conceding such a beauty, they were 4-1 down.

Sadio Mane vs Arsenal

From the same opening day fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool, Sadio Mane produced a masterclass to further stretch Liverpool's lead in that intense encounter. Mane drove powerfully into the Arsenal box and unleashed an unstoppable shot that left Peter Cech stranded.

That goal was to be Liverpool's fourth and last of the afternoon as Arsenal attempted a come-back.

Granit Xhaka vs Hull City

These days, each time he has the ball 20-yards from goal, the shout of shoooooot!! Goes up in the Emirates. The guy can shoot and the Emirate crowd always want him to. You need to see his screamer against Hull in the Premier League.

Xhaka came off the bench to blast home his first goal for his new club. That game ended 4-1 to Wenger's men.

Jordan Henderson vs Chelsea

I don't like the fact that Jordan Henderson would choose a team I have a soft spot for, to score such an amazing goal (I clapped for him anyway). Henderson blasted in from 30-yards to silence the crowd at SW6 and bring the score to 2-nil.

From that point on, the game seemed won and lost.

Demarai Gray vs Manchester United

Demarai Gray scored a goal that gave Leicester fans something to cheer for on a day their team got humiliated away from home. The young striker pulled away from two defenders and curled in a beauty. I really loved that mate.

I doubt if we can see something similar from Gray anytime soon - It was that good.

Philippe Coutinho vs Hull

Coutinho again! And this time it's an absolute beauty. It's a feature we are gradually getting used to with the Brazilian. His goal against Hull was absolutely amazing.

That goal helped Liverpool to a 5-1 victory.

Laurent Koscielny vs Southampton

My Jaw dropped when I saw Koscielny score this. The Frenchman scored a real poacher's goal when his bicycle kick found its way to the bottom corner.

That goal helped Arsenal to a 2-1 victory.

Callum Wilson vs West Brom

Bournemouth's first Premier League of the season came courtesy of an astonishing strike from Callum Wilson. I still can't fathom how the striker was able to guide home that ball.

Maybe it was luck; here's to more luck, Mr. Wilson.

Dimitri Payet vs Middlesbrough

I really can't start explaining what Payet did here. Just watch the video.
