We look to the Football League and the FA Cup for the acca this weekend

Friday 13th February 2015
For this weekend's football accumulator we mix it up between the Football League and the risky FA Cup which can produce shock results, as Chelsea , Man City and Spurs can testify to!

FA Cup fever will grip the nation once again this weekend as after a phenomenal fourth round which saw Bradford City knock out Chelsea and Middlesbrough down Manchester City, we are destined for an enthralling fifth round of the greatest club competition in the world.

We have also picked out a couple of stunning selections from the lower echelons of the Football League and our tasty treble pays just over 13/2 with BetVictor, as a £20 bet on the treble will give you a cracking return of £155.49.

Liverpool to beat Crystal Palace – 21/20 BetVictor

Brendan Rodgers has galvanised his Liverpool troops in the last few weeks and fresh from a late 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur the Reds can continue their excellent form by getting the better of Crystal Palace in an intriguing FA Cup fifth round clash at Selhurst Park on Saturday teatime.

Mario Balotelli's first Premier League goal for the Merseyside club was enough for Rodgers' side on Tuesday night to bag three vital Premier League points and having shown tremendous fight to edge past Bolton Wanderers in the last round with two late goals, then the 21/20 shots with BetVictor could well overpower an Eagles side that could only draw 1-1 with Newcastle United in midweek.

Alan Pardew has worked wonders since returning to Palace and wins over Southampton, Burnley and Leicester have propelled them up the league, but Liverpool are firing on all cylinders at the moment and whilst Steven Gerrard is in a race to be fit having injured himself in the Spurs game, the visitors should still possess enough quality to dispatch their London rivals.

Chesterfield to beat Leyton Orient – 21/20 BetVictor

Eight defeats in their last ten League One matches has plummeted Leyton Orient to the foot of the third tier and last season's highflyers will find things tough on Saturday afternoon, as they face a Chesterfield side pushing for a playoff place, and the Spireites are an attractive 21/20 with BetVictor Bookmakers to grab all three points.

Chesterfield were unable to forge their way into the top six in midweek as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Preston North End, but they had shown with a brace of wins over Notts County and Crawley Town that they are in decent form and at a shade of odds-against look to be a terrific betting proposition against a woeful Orient side.

Luton Town to beat Carlisle United – 17/20 BetVictor

Unbeaten in nine League Two games, Luton Town have soared up the table in recent months and they will hold genuine aspirations of pushing for automatic promotion as we venture into the business end of the season, and they can continue their surge up the fourth tier on Saturday by overpowering Carlisle United.

Installed as 17/20 shots with BetVictor, the Hatters showed tremendous fighting spirit to come from a two-goal deficit to York City on Tuesday night to bag a 2-2 draw and if they can build on that then they should be able to get the better of a Carlisle side that have been unable to maintain any consistency all season.
Mick Bates

Mick is a passionate fan of Coventry City and has watched from the sidelines (and had the privilege of seeing the inner workings during an exciting two years in corporate sales there) to see the once mighty Sky Blues fall from the Premier League, then fail to sparkle in the Championship, relegated from League One and wind up in League Two before winning the most important fixture in football competitions - The Checkatrade Trophy final followed by a heart-stopping promotion back to League One.

As well as supporting the Sky Blues, Mick appreciates all levels of football and loves a good book to keep himself entertained as well as a few hours on FIFA or Football Manager as time allows.

He also keeps an eye on all the major English leagues and regularly enjoys a flutter looking for that elusive treble!
