Will the winter break halt the La Liga revolution?

The 2018/19 La Liga campaign throws twists and turns into the title race. No team is running away with this season's championship. Nine points separate Spain's top six, quite unusual given the division's nature. Atletico Madrid and Barcelona dip in form while European champions Real Madrid appear in decline following their remarkable success in the past five years.

Smaller teams threaten to upset the apple cart. The winter break may come at the wrong time for them. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are all expected to compete for the title. They've been here before, know what comes next. Sevilla, Real Betis and Alaves are in unfamiliar territory. The winter break may halt their momentum.

This weekend presents the final fixtures in 2018. Teams will break until the first weekend in the new year. Barcelona are at home to Celta Vigo. Atletico Madrid square up against Espanyol. Real Madrid's fixture is postponed while they compete in the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi. Barca and Atleti victories will exert further pressure on the 'pretenders' giving them two weeks to ponder the difficulties ahead.

Let's take a look with them.
