Wins For Cardiff, Fulham and Swindon Predicted For This Weekend's Treble

Friday 10th January 2014
Michael Bates point you in the direction of a winning coupon this weekend? We hope he can, you can read his analysis of the weekend's games here:

The Premier League returns this weekend after a break for the FA Cup and two top flight matches feature in our exciting treble bet this weekend. A £20 treble bet on the three matches on Saturday could potentially return a healthy £193.04 in winnings with Ladbrokes, which looks like a cracking return. Our two Premier League fixtures on the coupon focus on the bottom end of the table while we drop down into the League One promotion race for our final pick of the weekend.

Cardiff City v West Ham United – Home win @ 19/20

Our first stop this week sees us head to Wales to take in the crucial bottom of the table clash between Cardiff City and West Ham United. Cardiff will be having their first league game under new manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, while Sam Allardyce is on the verge of losing his job at West Ham after a disastrous run of results. The Hammers have conceded 11 goals in the last two games after losing 5-0 at Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday and then shipping six, without reply, at Man City in mid-week. Those two defeats, coupled with their terrible league form, are surely pushing Allardyce closer to the exit door with the team now without a League win since the back end of November. Cardiff will have been delighted with their FA cup win at Newcastle last weekend and the appointment of a new gaffer is likely to have an impact here, which ensures they are the first team on our treble coupon.

Fulham v Sunderland – Home win @ 6/5

We stay in the Premier League for the second match on our coupon for the clash between Fulham and Sunderland at Craven Cottage. This is another crucial meeting at the bottom of the table with Sunderland still rock bottom and Fulham aiming to pull clear of the drop zone after appointing Rene Meulensteen as their new Manager recently. The Cottagers have won two of their last three games since appointing the Dutchman and their home record ensures that they are the ones to beat here. Sunderland received a boost in mid-week as they beat Man United in the League Cup Semi-Final first leg but their away Premier League form is still a major concern for them. The Black Cats have picked up just one win on the road this season and that stat alone makes Fulham look like cracking value in my opinion to take the three points at 6/5.

Swindon Town v Peterborough United – Home win @ 5/4

We drop down into League One for the third and final match on our treble coupon this week with Swindon playing host to Peterborough in a crucial game. Both sides are hoping to be in the promotion mix come May and a win here for either team will give them a big boost heading into the second half the campaign. Swindon currently find themselves in ninth place after a solid season while Peterborough have slipped into fifth after a disastrous run of form of late, which has seen Posh win just two of their last ten league games. That includes losing the last three games on the bounce which has cranked up the pressure on Darren Ferguson and the players. The Robins have lost just two games this season at the County Ground and they will fancy their chances of sticking the knife into Posh this weekend. With that in mind, we like the chances of Swindon taking the win at odds against as the final match of our treble, which we hope will be the first win of 2014!

Mick is a passionate fan of Coventry City and has watched from the sidelines (and had the privilege of seeing the inner workings during an exciting two years in corporate sales there) to see the once mighty Sky Blues fall from the Premier League, then fail to sparkle in the Championship, relegated from League One and wind up in League Two before winning the most important fixture in football competitions - The Checkatrade Trophy final followed by a heart-stopping promotion back to League One.

As well as supporting the Sky Blues, Mick appreciates all levels of football and loves a good book to keep himself entertained as well as a few hours on FIFA or Football Manager as time allows.

He also keeps an eye on all the major English leagues and regularly enjoys a flutter looking for that elusive treble!
