Wins for Southampton, Forest and Fleetwood Are The Focus For Our Treble This Weekend

Friday 22nd August 2014
In this weekend's treble bet we pluck out a match from each of the top three leagues as we bid to land an early season win.

First off we start in the Premier League where we are backing the Saints to beat the Baggies for the third consecutive time. We then venture down into the Championship where we fancy top of the league Nottingham Forest to continue their cracking start under Stuart Pearce and win all three points at home to Reading. Last but not least League One leaders Fleetwood Town look good value to maintain their 100% start to the season with a victory at home to fellow new boys Chesterfield.

Place a £20 bet with Betfred and if the three home results come through you will win returns of £181.36

Southampton to win at home to West Brom @ 10/11

Southampton have endured a difficult summer, having lost their manager and a host of star players. However, under new boss Ronald Koeman they put on an impressive showing in their opening day match away to Liverpool, and can count themselves very unfortunate to come away from Anfield empty handed. The Saints enjoyed a cracking second-half but in the end lost out to a late Daniel Sturridge strike.

Despite the defeat the south coast side can take a lot from the display on Merseyside,  and they will now be expected to grab all three points at home to West Brom on Saturday afternoon. The Hampshire club did the double over the Baggies last season and now have the chance to make it a hat-trick of victories this weekend.

Nottingham Forest to win at home to Reading @ evens

Nottingham Forest have enjoyed a flying start to life under new boss Stuart Pearce.  The Reds legend has led his beloved club to the top of the Championship after three games, after registering two wins and a draw. During the week Forest became the first club to take points off Bournemouth, who had won their previous two games.

On Saturday the East Midlands club host Reading at the City Ground, and they will be gunning to record the win as the bid to retain their position at the top of the table. The wounded Royals slumped to a shock 2-0 defeat at home to managerless Huddersfield on Tuesday, leaving them 12th in the table with a win, a draw and a loss from their opening three matches.

Fleetwood Town to win at home to Chesterfield @ 11/8

Fleetwood Town have stormed out of the blocks in their debut season in League One, winning all three of their games so far. The Fisherman are gunning for a remarkable seventh promotion in 11 seasons, and are certainly going about things the right way for a team that has enjoyed a staggering rise up the English football ladder.

On Saturday Fleetwood lock horns with fellow new boys Chesterfield who have also enjoyed a decent start, although they head into this weekend's clash at the Highbury Stadium on the back of a mid-week defeat at home to MK Dons. The Lancashire club are overflowing with confidence at the moment and on home soil they look a decent bet to maintain their 100% start to the season.

Mick is a passionate fan of Coventry City and has watched from the sidelines (and had the privilege of seeing the inner workings during an exciting two years in corporate sales there) to see the once mighty Sky Blues fall from the Premier League, then fail to sparkle in the Championship, relegated from League One and wind up in League Two before winning the most important fixture in football competitions - The Checkatrade Trophy final followed by a heart-stopping promotion back to League One.

As well as supporting the Sky Blues, Mick appreciates all levels of football and loves a good book to keep himself entertained as well as a few hours on FIFA or Football Manager as time allows.

He also keeps an eye on all the major English leagues and regularly enjoys a flutter looking for that elusive treble!
