Wolves Make Konchesky Enquiry

Tuesday 21st June 2011
Wolves have been in contact with Liverpool over the availability of Paul Konchesky, who is expected to leave the Anfield club this summer as he does not feature in Kenny Dalglish's plans. The left back was signed by Roy Hodgson last summer for a fee of £3.5 million and it has been reported that he'll be allowed to leave for a fraction of that price.

Mick McCarthy was keen on signing the left back on loan in January, but he joined Nottingham Forest as Premier League regulations state that a player can't play for more than 2 clubs in 1 season.

Another left back being linked with a move to Molineux is Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand. The left back, who started and completed all of England's games at the Under 21 European Championships, has been offered to Wolves on loan in a bid to give him more 1st team opportunities than he will recieve at Chelsea. The 21 year old has had loan spells at Nottingham Forest, Reading, Norwich City, Oldham Athletic and Bournemouth after signing for Chelsea from Gillingham for £125,000 back in 2005.
